Remote Video Monitoring
Reasons for Using Remote Video
How it works
What is Remote Video Monitoring? Digital Video Storage and Transmission (DVST)
is the name given to the revolutionary technology which allows “live’ full-frame
color or monochrome images to be transmitted across ordinary or ISDN telephone
lines to a central station monitoring location where they can be viewed and
digitally stored. When sending video images. the distance from the camera
to the monitoring screen is irrelevant. One guard or operator can effectively
view or patrol any number of sites, wherever they are in the country-or around
the world.
Fast Security Breach Response When an alarm is triggered at a DVST equipped
site, DVST automatically dials our central station monitoring location sending
images of the cause of the alarm so that no incident is missed including images.
Alternatively operators at our Central Alarm Monitoring Station can dial-up
remote sites to perform random security checks or to patrol remote sites at
regular or irregular times of the day or night. Picture A speed are quality
and consistent with the actual environment or circumstances under which the
pictures are sent.
It is possible for our Central Alarm Monitoring Station to view up to 16 DVST
cameras at one time (32 cameras with dual monitors), zooming in on any particular
location in an instant. DVST can check each day the operational integrity of
your customers CCTV system. Any malfunction or discrepancy can be reported
to you immediately. Cameras have the ability to pan/ tilt and zoom (if so equipped)
with varying resolutions to track fast moving objectives or zero in with a
high resolution close—up. And these images can be used in evidence.
Automate Building Controls Additional DVST options include ancillary
building control equipment to fully control and automate dates. doors
arid locks and lighting from our central alarm monitoring station.
An optional remote audio link allows for one or two—way communication
to identity personnel before allowing access or to provide safety assurance
for workers leaving the building at night after—hours. Full system
integration with building control equipment such as fire, lighting,
HVAC and energy management systems can be achieved
effortlessly and effectively. All alarms can be verified by both video and
audio eliminating false alarms and the potential for police response withdrawal
for companies that have frequent false alarms.
Redundant Monitoring Redundant Video Monitoring is becoming more
popular with companies that already have CCTV and are monitoring with
company monitoring personnel. Redundant Monitoring allows this type of
user to call us to immediately go on—line with DVST Central Alarm Monitoring.
We become part-time providers of DVST when a customer’s CCTV operator
must leave the monitoring site or the monitoring site is otherwise unattended.
With Redundant Monitoring, a DVST customer can use us "as needed" or
on a scheduled part—time basis.
